In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act

Supporters of ‘Folkestone’s Winter Shelter’ update #1

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has offered their support for our community fundraising drive for the Folkestone Winter Shelter. The response has been huge and it is life affirming to see what a community can accomplish when it pulls together.

All the promoters in Folkestone have offered their help and support willingly and we have a huge amount of events to announce as they are confirmed. Please find below a list of the first ones, which have been confirmed to date.

The response from the community has been equally huge and very humbling. We are now organizing all the different offers we have and we will be announcing the events and contacting you all as soon as we can.

So some brilliant news to announce up to now, someone has very kindly offered to lend us a van to use, free of charge until we can raise enough money to get our own. An absolutely gigantic thank you to Sam Archer for this kindness.

We also have some other massive news to announce in the middle of this week once it has been confirmed.

Please continue to lend your support and get involved. As the nights get colder and colder, we are now racing to ensure that no one needs sleep in the freezing cold in our community.

Hi there, I was passing through the London Underground the other day when I noticed a great campaign. They are asking for any old or spare coats to be brought to any tube station this week to be donated to homeless people to keep them warm this winter. It’s inspiring campaign, because I bet I’m not the only one who has a couple of jackets languishing at the back of the coat cupboard. It’s inspired me, and I’ve dug out 4 to donate. Could we do something similar locally, via Facebook, I bet we could collect plenty.

That is a brilliant idea, we are just waiting to see if we can get a shop for a month because we have so much stuff donated, that would be a perfect place to donate. thanks so much x
